News about Tod House, 2019

In an email from Oak Bay today:

I thought you might be interested to know that Oak Bay Council has approved $240,000 over the next two years to renovate Tod House and bring it back to its original glory. As a designated heritage property great care will be taken to ensure that improvements respect the property’s history and heritage.
Regards,
Warren Jones

  1. That is terrific news! Do you think having had the Pauline/Paulin reunion has prompted their interest in the property? I would be interested in seeing what the property looks like inside now…sorry we weren’t able to tour! Don’t get me wrong, totally understand having been currently occupied! Then seeing what the project entails. We were fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the inside 21 years ago…but having much more interest these days! Thank you for sharing the news! -Liz.

  2. I am hoping that our reunion provided that extra push for the decision. What they do after the renovation is the big question. Will they rent it out again? Will they turn it into a museum?

  3. Wow! That’s fantastic news. If you saw the roof today, you’ld be worried about it collapsing, it’s that bad. So what a great council.
Mr. Premier spent some time recently with the Pauline Family Reunion, perhaps he could also help with the heritage site costs, if needed.
The Pauline Family once lived on the Todd house.
    This is great News.
Thank you council and Mayor of Oak Bay.
