Ernest Paulin and the Oliver Typewriter Co, 1899

Ernest Alfred Paulin worked for the Oliver Typewriting Company in Birmingham in 1899 as a commission salesman.

In trying to find out what the typewriter Ernest used, I think it was this one…..

which dates from 1896, and was manufactured in the US.  They didn’t start making them in the UK until the 1920s.
